Being happy at college?

Hi, I just started college a few days ago, Lehigh University, infamous party school. I'm not really into all of that partying and I'm the kind of person who likes my space. I'm not jealous of my roomate, who is already partying till dawn. Frat parties are just not my idea of fun. My girlfriend has been the closest thing to me for 4 years now, and we decided to stay together for college. I want to mabye visit her every few weeks, as I am only 40 minutes from my house. I know everyone says to stay on campus, but frankly I'm fine with only a few friends and not big on parties. I figure it's college, I am free to pursue my happiness, and my girlfriend makes me happier than anything or anyone. If I had to choose between a happy college life and her, I would choose her. However, I am curious to see what other people think of my mindset. I know lots of people leave campus on weekends, and I know it's often looked on poorly, but if seeing my girlfriend every few weeks makes me happier, then why should I deprive myself of that?
