In pokemon is it possible to breed legendaries?

One of my friends asked me if i could se his pokemon heart gold game to get his ditto and trade it to pokemon diamond because he has a giratina in pokemon diamond. He said if you breed a giratina and a ditto you get an arceus egg. Both are genderless so is it possible to breed legendaries
