MS word 2007/2010 table of contents and page numbering? I need help?

Ok, I'm a noob in inserting TOC. What I want to happen is that the first 3 pages are in roman numerals while the pages next page will start at numerical. I did experiments but failed. Can you please help me? I also did the headings thingy. I also do not know how to do a TOC with a continuous page number. ex , i want my TOC appear as paragraph.....3-4 but it appears like this: paragraph ..... 3 only. help please
