A female friend is in hospital with possible frontal lobe dementia. She still is?
under observation. I visited her and she spent the whole time looking down at the floor, mumbling, with her hair hanging over her face so I couldn't see her face. Apparently she is either like this or worse, each day. Should I keep going to visit her just so the staff knows she has a friend in me? Have my visits any impact on her whatsoever? It upsets me to see her like that but I am not selfish and I can handle it. She has 4 relatives but 3 have the flu badly and can't go into hospitals. The other relly is looking after everyone and has refused my offers of practical help, like housework. They do have plenty of money for professional help, like laundry and meal delivery. I am sending cards and small presents to remind them I am thinking of them. Should I keep visiting? The patient has friends other than relatives but none have been to see her because they say they would be too upset.
