SCIENCE QUESTION - If Ice is cold, why do eskimo's live in Igloos?

It works as an insulator and and traps the warmth within. Snow is a good insulator also. That's why the bottom layer of snow is frozen. It's because it melts and freezes again. When a lake is in the beginning phase of a freeze over, and it snows and leaves a blanket of snow, it hinders the freezing process and can make for some dangerous ice.
